The first gymnast that I will be talking about, also maybe one of the best ever, is Simone Biles. She has been to three Summer Olympic Games, Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020, and Paris 2024. Simone has a couple of gymnastics moves named after her, but the most common one is on vault, called the Biles II. It is a yerchenko double pike, and so far, she is the only person to ever compete it. Though she is so great, she did have a mental problem in 2020 at the Tokyo games. She had what is called the twisties, where your body and mind dont do the same thing when you are in the air. She didn't compete the rest of those olympics, but she stayed to cheer her teammates on. As you can see, Simone Biles is a great gymnast and also a kind person.
Jordan Chiles the next legend that I will be talking about. She is also a member of the US Olympic team and competed with Simone Biles. They even were friends before they started the Olympics. Jordan had more troubles than Simone through her career though. When she was a kid, she had a coach that didn't treat her fairly because she was black, so she struggled with that. Then, when she reached the Olympics, she placed third, but had the medal taken away because the judges "got the scores wrong." Though she had these incidents, it didn't stop her. Jordan went to college at UCLA for gymnastics, and did amazing there. As you can see, Jordan Chiles didn't let anything stop her, and that's why she's so great.
